Tunku Imran Trophy - Invitation

Kuala Lumpur Cricket Association (KLCA) will be organizing the 2015 edition of the Tunku Imran Trophy and this tournament is scheduled to start in the later of September 2013. The following are some of the important information related to the competition:

1. The competition is opened to all teams/clubs in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor on the invitation of the Association.

2. Matches shall be confined to one innings per side and limited to 20 overs. Rules will follow closely to the ACC T20 Tournament. There will be two (2) matches on match days at the selected venues. The first match will be from 10.00am – 1.00 pm and the second match will be from 1.30pm-4.30 pm. The final will be played under lights at Kinrara Oval.

KUALA LUMPUR FINISHED 3RD IN THE MALAYSIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 2015

Sunday, 14th June, Kinrara Oval. Selangor stamped their mark as Champions of the MPL Tier A league winning all their matches. Though Selangor had virtually won the championship before going into their last 2 matches in the league fixtures they played to their full potential and made sure they remain undefeated all the way.

KUALA LUMPUR WINS BIG

On Sunday, 31 May, Kuala Lumpur defeated Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) with a big margin of 156 runs. On winning the toss, KL elected to bat first and put up 296 runs for 9 wickets. Their total was an all round effort by Sheikh Nasir 73 runs, HHM de Zoysa 68, Virandeep Singh was on 48, PC Wickramasinghe 32, Shahrulnizam Yusof 13 runs & Hafiz Khair 11 n..o. Faiz M. Nasir , Rashid Ahad took 3 wickets each for 51 & 56 runs.

KUALA LUMPUR LOST TO SELANGOR IN A CLOSE MATCH

In the closely contested match against Kuala Lumpur, Selangor came out winners by 14 runs. On winning the toss, Selangor elected to bat first and put up a total of 274 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Shajan Salim top scored with 78 runs, the others were DHAP Thangara 67, G. Sivanantha 48 n.o., Fitri Sham 17, Shankar Sathish 14 & ST de Silva 12 runs. KL's Nazril A. Rahman took 2 wickets for 43 runs off 10 overs.
