Sunday, 14th June, Kinrara Oval. Selangor stamped their mark as Champions of the MPL Tier A league winning all their matches. Though Selangor had virtually won the championship before going into their last 2 matches in the league fixtures they played to their full potential and made sure they remain undefeated all the way.
KUALA LUMPUR KEEPS THEIR WINNING FORM
On 6th June 2015, Playing at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur defeated Malaysian Armed Forces by 92 runs. On winning the toss KL elected to bat first and put up a total of 279 runs for 9 wickets in the alloted 50 overs.
Virandeep Singh top scored with 90 runs, while Sheikh Nasir 50, Syed Aziz 48, Nazril A. Rahman 18, HHM de Soyza, PC Wickramasinghe both 16 runs & Hafiz Khair 10 runs were the other KL batsmen who contributed. MAF bowlers Norwira Zazmie & Rashid Ahad each took 4 wickets for 24 & 38 runs respectively.
KUALA LUMPUR WINS BIG
On Sunday, 31 May, Kuala Lumpur defeated Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) with a big margin of 156 runs. On winning the toss, KL elected to bat first and put up 296 runs for 9 wickets. Their total was an all round effort by Sheikh Nasir 73 runs, HHM de Zoysa 68, Virandeep Singh was on 48, PC Wickramasinghe 32, Shahrulnizam Yusof 13 runs & Hafiz Khair 11 n..o. Faiz M. Nasir , Rashid Ahad took 3 wickets each for 51 & 56 runs.
